My class is currently reading biographies and is so tickled that I join them while I read John Adams. It sparks a dialog about his life as we finish each session. This is my 4th post but none has worked yet...hoping for the best with this one!
I have also started reading John Adams. I'm feeling like I'm really scattered, but I was anxious to just dig into it. I enjoyed his diary entry where he asks, "Why could he not bring order to this life? Why could he not clear his table of its clutter of books and papers and concentrate on just one book, one subject?" I could definitely relate.
I can relate to this as well. As a part time administrator and part time teacher my desk is constantly cluttered with a combination of academic and discipline information. However when I try to clear the desk and place things on their own shelf I cannot find things like I could when they were part of the clutter. I think Adams' mind was so active that if the desk was clear it sent a message that he was not actively engaged in enough things.
