In case anyone is reading this before we leave, could you answer some questions for me? What materials are any of you taking besides the binder, which already weighs 25 lbs? I don't have, need, or want a kindle, so my books are real and very heavy as well. Are we supposed to take JA and Walden?
Also, I have run off my 45 copies of my research paper and that alone weighs a few pounds, which I will still have (the weight) because we will be trading papers soon. Our instructions are to bring a fanny pack or small backpack but how is all the paperwork/binder going to fit into something that small?
Ok, now that you can see I am stressing over silly things, what are your solutions as I am open to any and all. Thanks, Pat Drussel

Pat, You're way ahead of me!! I'm still trying to figure out what kind of format she wants for our research paper?
ReplyDeleteI put a cover page on, typed it in APA format because that's all I know and listed a couple of references. To save paper and weight :), I copied it front and back, stapled it and called it good.
ReplyDeleteSince I don't think we had a lot of guidance on this, we will have a lot of formats between us. I have sent a couple of emails asking for clarification on some issues and have never heard a thing from anything. It should be interesting.
I signed up for the english credit, so I used the MLA style. I had lots of questions about how I should do things as well, so you aren't alone. I also copied double sided to save paper. I can't even get into my school, so I had to pay full price for copies, and it cost me $25. I'm frustrated with carrying so much in one suitcase. Do we need to take the readings that we've already done a log on?
ReplyDeleteTurbian/Chicago style is not that different from APA style. I asked the same kind of questions about all of the weight we're supposed to take - I don't understand why we have to take the binder with us - is the reading going to be gone over, piece by piece? I just don't see taking John Adams or Walden. 45 copies of the papers will be plenty to lug around. Oh, well - if anyone gets an answer to an email, let me know. So far, no response to any of my questions either. See you on Thursday morning.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we need to take Walden or John Adams. I plan on taking the Marzano book because if we are going to be talking about strategies, it would be good to have that as a reference. I certainly don't know it well enough to place things in context without it. I don't think we'll need to lug the binder around with us through all the days. At least, I hope not.
ReplyDeleteI got a response from Judy saying that we need to bring Walden, the binder, but not Marzano and John Adams was up to us.
