G.O. and Beyond!

I like the graphic organizer displayed by "Mrs. D." that she used for her Holocaust unit. I took my students to the Anne Frank Exhibit as well. The movie was good for the students. I visited Dachau (concentration camp) and used pictures I took there together with interviews I had with survivors. The kids had more questions to ask our guides than they knew how to answer. I would really appreciate a copy of your graphic organizer. It does look very useful.
Also, I am totally uncertain about the lesson plans. Am I to include them here, or am I to give them to Judy as we board? I would like copies of the others' lesson plans that could be tweeked and used by a Language Arts teacher. Will someone please advise me. I have them ready and, having just finished using them, have them accessible.
To the person who wrote recently about the importance of Adams in writing the Declaration of Independence and the animosity others had toward him, thanks for sharing. It really sounds like many, if not all, of us have had our knowledge and understanding of our founding fathers altered.

  1. I love the Graphic Organizer. I find so many times that students are not able to organize the information in sentences or paragraphs.
However, if you give them some bubbles and let them connect them with lines, Away they go.

I love the graphic organizer software "Inspiration". I have seen 8th graders do wonders with this in trying to organize information about Presidents, Wars and other historical events.

Give it a try. (I am not paid for this AD)

  3. As far as the lesson plans, someone correct me if I am wrong, I didn't think we had to submit the actual lesson plans. I thought we were supposed to teach two lesson plans using the ideas from the book as a guide and then write a reflective blog about what we taught. We are also supposed to make at least one comment about another persons's blog.
